League Of Women Voters Registers Nearly 1,200 Area High School Students

  • Monday, April 4, 2022
The League of Women Voters of Chattanooga announces they have registered nearly 1,200 new voters across Hamilton County high schools in recent months.

The total comes as the deadline to register to vote is today for the May 3 primary election.

“Collaboration is the core to our successful voter registration events and the League is happy to partner with the Hamilton County Department of Education and so many terrific volunteers and organizations to get our area high school students registered to vote,” said Kerry Lansford, president of the League of Women Voters of Chattanooga.
“Across our community, high school students are now able to participate in democracy by casting a vote to make their voices heard for the first time, and they all seemed eager to exercise that right to vote in upcoming elections.”

"The League also released the most comprehensive, critical voter information about Hamilton County races. The information is now available on Vote411.org," officials said.
