Joyce Payne
Joyce Marie Bishop Payne, 77 a lifelong resident of Benton, passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022, at home.
She was born on March 30, 1945, in Benton, Tn., to the late Spence and Edith Pankey Bishop. Joyce was a graduate of Polk County High School and retired early from Central Service Association in Cleveland. She was an avid gardener and enjoyed spending time working in her flower beds. Joyce was also a member of Welcome Valley Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Otis Bishop; sister, Gearldine Bishop; and sister-in-law; Nyokia Bishop.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband of 42 years, Earl Payne, her daughter, Carol Adams Hambright (Arnold) and her beloved granddaughter, Cara Cummings, who she loved deeply. Also included are her siblings, Boyd (Elizabeth) Bishop and Frank (Georgia Faye) Bishop, all of Cleveland and Bobby Bishop, Mary Ann Bishop, Kenneth (Dee Dee) Bishop, Ralph Bishop, Terry(Jennifer) Bishop, all of Benton; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, in the chapel of Fike-Randolph & Son Funeral Home with the Reverend Carl Haulk officiating.
A graveside service will be held at 4 p.m. on Monday, May 16, in Benton Memorial Gardens with Kelvin Bishop, Alvin Bishop, Randy Bishop, Mark Bishop, Reggie Bishop and Ben Harris serving as pallbearers.
Her family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. on Sunday at the funeral home prior to the service.
