Linda Lou Dearing Coker, 81, of LaFayette passed away on Friday, May 13, 2022.

She retired from Roper Corp. after 20 years of service. Linda was always putting others before herself and when she wasn’t spending time with her grandkids and great grandkids she could be found in the kitchen where she loved to bake and take care of her family. She was a member of the Second Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie Bill Dearing and Lemous Elizabeth Dearing; brothers, Jimmie Ray Dearing, Bobby Joe Dearing, Billy John Dearing, and Jerry Allan Dearing.

She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Julian Coker; children, Judy (Mike) Quinn, Jill (Brian) Avans, and Joel (Angie) Coker; sister, Alice (Jim) Pettigrew; grandchildren, Crystal (Greg) Wheatley, Becky Waters, Julee (Adan) Serrano, Brandon Avans, and Jonah Coker; great-grandchildren, Caden and Corbin Mashburn, Easton Keen, and Piper Wheatley; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 16, in the Wilbanks Memorial Chapel with Pastors Bill Gardener and Tom Farmer officiating.

Interment will be at LaFayette Memory Gardens.

Pallbearers are Brandon Avans, Jonah Coker, Caden Mashburn, John Dearing, Kevin Pettigrew, and Brent Pettigrew.

Honorary pallbearers are Easton Keen, Jason Pettigrew, Paul Dearing, Corbin Mashburn, Steve Whaley, and Adan Serrano.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 5-8 p.m. and on Monday from 12 p.m. until the hour of service.

Arrangements are by Wallis-Wilbanks Funeral Home, LaFayette.
