Mack Lee Ball, age 86 of Dalton, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 14, 2022, at daybreak at his daughter’s residence in Chatsworth, Georgia, surrounded by his loving family.

Mack was born July 8, 1935, in Dalton, Ga., a son of the late William H. and Nannie M. Boatwright Ball. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife of 66 years, Gladys Juanita Brooks Ball; son William Michael Ball; a grandson, Easton Gage Smith; son-in-law, Larry Pippin; brothers, Hubert Ball, Ray Ball, and Ralph Ball; sister, Helen Sumner; and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Paul and Mamie Gilbert Brooks.

Mack loved to tell people about Jesus and traveled though out the South, sharing his testimony and the plan of salvation.

He is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Coy Bates of Cohutta, GA, Elizabeth Anne Hair and Dennis McCombs of Woodstock, GA, Brenda Ball Pippin of Dalton, GA, Joy and Emmy Chasteen of Calhoun, GA; brothers and sister-in-law, Floyd Ball of Dalton, GA, Charles Ball of Ringgold, GA, Flossie Ball of Dalton, GA; grandchildren, Malissa Carr, Heather Cunningham, Mandy Pippin and Jon Wilson, Nathan Pippin, Shane Smith, Cody Hair, Zachary Hair, Hope and Joey Peterka, and Barbara and Chris Kile; great-grandchildren, Chris Miller, Travis Miller, Tyler Cross, Madison Mills, Katie Mills, Noah Cunningham, Robin Wilson, Jonathan Wilson, Lane Smith, Kayla and Chase Blackwell, and Easton Hair; great-great-grandchildren, Bentley Miller, Mia Perez, and Addie Blackwell; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends.

Services to celebrate the life of Mack Lee Ball will be held Tuesday, May 17, at 7:30 p.m. from the Ponders Melrose Chapel with Reverend Dennis Chasteen, Reverend Randy Postelle and Dr. Danny Cochran officiating.

He will be laid to rest beside his wife at the Antioch Cemetery on Wednesday, May 18, at 1 p.m. with Shane Smith, Cody Hair Zachary Hair, Nathan Pippin, Chris Miller and Chase Blackwell honored to serve as pallbearers.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home after 4 p.m. Tuesday until the service hour and on Wednesday after 10 a.m. until the graveside service at 1 p.m.
