Sandra “Sandy” Jean Norris Turner, 71, of Lafayette, Georgia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 19, 2022 at a local hospital.

She was a lifelong resident of the Chattanooga and North Georgia area where she attended City High School and was a member of Old Bethel Baptist Church in Chickamauga.  Mrs. Turner loved the Lord, her family, spending time with her friends at church, working in her flower and vegetable gardens, enjoying her sisters’ day, and fishing.  She had a huge heart for others and she never met a stranger.  She was very creative and was known for her beautiful crafts and her Pepper Jelly.  Mrs. Turner loved her animals and enjoyed talking to “Butter Milk” her cow.  She will be dearly missed by her family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Leon Norris and Mary Purkey; and granddaughter, Summer Wynn Smith.

Survivors include her loving husband and soul mate of nearly 21 years, Clarence Turner; three children, Roger (Sherry) Smith, Donnie (Megan) Smith, and Amanda (April) Sullivan; two step-children, Michael Jason Turner and Gregory Scott (Kim) Turner; two sisters, Patricia (John) Jenkins and Sonya Morrow; special sister-in-law/best friend, Wilma (David) Darnell; grandchildren, Winter Smith, Hunter Smith, Sawyer Smith, Blaine Turner, Austin Turner, and Colton Turner; and several nieces and nephews.

Condolences may be shared and live web casting of the funeral services are available at www.lane-southcrestchapel.com.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 24, at 11 a.m. in the South Crest Chapel with Reverend Steve Camp officiating.

Interment will follow in the TN-GA Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends Monday from 4-8 p.m. at the South Crest Chapel of Lane Funeral Home and Crematory, Rossville.
