Retired After Long Career With Olan Mills

Herman “Dean” Bassham, 83, of Chattanooga passed away on Friday, May 20, 2022.

 

Born in Columbia, TN, on March 20, 1939, to the late Herman Aaron and Robbie Lucile Godwin Bassham, he retired from Olan Mills as an International Director of Training after many years of service. Mr. Bassham sang with the Tennesseans Gospel Quartet and was inducted into the Tri-State Gospel Music Hall of Fame. He served as a choir director for Maranatha Baptist Church.

 

Survivors include his two sons, Terry Dean Bassham (Jamie), Chattanooga and James Aaron Bassham (Krissy), Rossville; three grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and sister, Peggy B. Prentice, Martinsburg, WV.

 

A Celebration of Life will be held on Tuesday, May 24, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow at Lakewood Memorial Gardens, East.
