Chattanooga defeated third-seeded Murray State 1-0 in eight innings on Saturday evening at the NCAA Tuscaloosa Regional. However, the Mocs then suffered a second loss to Alabama to end their season.
The Mocs and Racers were scoreless through seven innings until Adison Keylon drove in the game’s lone run in the eighth on an RBI groundout.
Brooke Parrott tossed 7.2 shutout innings.
She allowed three hits, four walks and struck out two.
Chattanooga and No. 6 Alabama afterward kicked off game five of the regional on SEC Network for a spot in the Regional Final vs. Stanford.
Alabama led 3-1 going into the fifth inning.
Alabama scored once in the first and again in the third and one more in the fourth.
Chattanooga got on the board in the bottom of the fourth with two hits and then Olivia Lipari coming home on a wild pitch.
Alabama was up 6-1 at the start of the final chance for the Mocs. Adison Keylon homered, then Emily Coltharp singled, causing Alabama to turn to senior Montana Fouts to get the final two outs.
Alabama must defeat Stanford twice on Sunday to advance.
