Children's Bed Build To Be Held May 21

  • Saturday, May 7, 2022

The AZZ Care Teams of AZZ Enclosure Systems of Chattanooga and AZZ Galvanizing of Jasper will host a Children’s Bed Build in cooperation with the Sleep in Heavenly Peace’s Pittsburg chapter on May 21, at 9 a.m. at 1919 Polymer Drive, Chattanooga.

Sleep in Heavenly Peace is a non-profit organization whose main mission is to provide beds to local children who are currently sleeping on floors in our community.  AZZ’s goal is to raise awareness of this local dilemma and has raised nearly $10,000 to date to help build beds for these children.

The cost to build and provide bedding for each is $200.

Volunteers bring the beds into the child’s home, where they are assembled with the child’s help so they can make it their own. Beds are made with sheets and bedding chosen by the child to whom the bed is given.

For more information or to donate to this project, contact Eric Stallworth, AZZ engineering manager at 423 553-6239 or ericstallworth@azz.com.
