Slaughter, Gloria Ann (Dayton)

Gloria Ann Slaughter, 86, of Dayton, passed away on Saturday, June 25, 2022, at her home.

She was born in Baldwinville, Ma., on Oct. 26, 1935, the daughter of the late Eric Joseph and Selina (Tefoe) Richard. She was also preceded in death by her husband John Thomas Slaughter. 

Gloria lived in Rhea County since 1971, was a homemaker, and was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses. 

Gloria is survived by her son, Jack Slaughter of Dayton; her two grandchildren, Synthia (Christopher) Staggs of Mulberry, AR, and Nicholas Slaughter of Graysville; and her two sisters, Ellie Ayers of Lake Helen, FL, and Elizabeth Terwilliger of South Carolina. 

Gloria will be laid to rest next to her husband at Stephens Cemetery in Hermitage, Tn., on Wednesday, June 29, at 1 p.m. with Phil Carter officiating.
