Nurture the Next will celebrate its work serving and supporting vulnerable families in Chattanooga and the Tennessee Valley with its first fundraising event in Chattanooga, A Night with Nurture the Next. The event will be held Thursday from 6-9 p.m.
Guests will enjoy a cocktail party with a silent auction and music by Chattanooga musician Rick Rushing at The Gilman Event Space, 216 W. 8th St.
Nurture the Next will also honor Tennessee State Senator Bo Watson with its Rise Award for his ongoing support of two-generation, evidence-based home visiting programming – the cornerstone of Nurture the Next’s services. Senator Watson was a key figure in securing funding from the state’s Temporary Assistance for Needy Families surplus to expand home visiting services in the Tennessee
Valley and across the state.
Officials said Nurture the Next believes parenting is a skill passed down from one generation to the next. By teaching positive parenting practices, the impact is long lasting. Improving the lives of children today, improves the lives of their families for generations to come. A Night with Nurture the Next will raise awareness and the need for further support to ensure they can continue advancing their mission: to create a future for children and families filled with promise and prosperity.
