Foundation House Ministries Holds Christmas In July Market To Support Mothers In Crisis

  • Thursday, July 14, 2022

Foundation House Ministries will hold its annual Christmas in July event at the Healing Springs Gifts Shop, 266 Broad St. NW in Cleveland. The family fun event will include carriage rides, a petting zoo, cookie and ornament decorating, Christmas shopping, and arts and crafts.

The event will kick off on Thursday, July 21, with extended shopping hours from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. and then on Friday and Saturday, July 22-23, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m.

Foundation House Ministries provides financial, emotional, and physical support to mothers or pregnant women who struggle with addiction, homelessness, and joblessness. In addition to offering full-time residence and court advocacy, staff with the nonprofit organization, train and employ mothers to create and sell all-natural candles, soaps and lotions in their facilities. The mothers sell their products on site and wholesale to local boutiques. The Healing Springs Gifts products will be available for purchase during the Christmas in July event.

The three-day event will begin on Thursday with 15 vendors to shop, Friday is customer appreciation day with prizes, and Saturday will be filled with kids’ activities for families to enjoy. All sales from the event will support Foundation House Ministries and its mission to support mothers in crisis.

Foundation House Ministries Executive Director Suzanne Burns says this year’s Christmas in July event is more important than ever. “Like so many nonprofits across the Tennessee Valley, the pandemic affected us in ways we couldn’t imagine. Calls to our organization have gone up 200 percent since last year. It is evident our services are needed in this community and we hope, like during the holiday season, families will show their generosity and spirit of family to support these women in need."

Foundation House Ministries is asking for donations of ornaments and Christmas decorations ahead of the event. To support the nonprofit by donating items or funds, please visit www.foundationhouseministries.org
