Ashworth, Mary Alice (Summerville)

Mrs. Mary Alice Ashworth, 80, of Berryton Community, Summerville, passed away Sunday afternoon, July 3, 2022 at her residence.  Mrs. Ashworth was born in Chattooga County, Georgia on May 19, 1942 to the late Fred and Willie Mae Bohannon Tucker.  She was a member, and for many years was pianist, for the Berryton Baptist Church, and was pianist for “The Singing Volunteers” quartet.  

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, the late Harold Fred Tucker.

Surviving are her husband, Raybern L. Ashworth; daughter and future son-in-law, Alexis Ashworth and Tyler Pickle; and several nieces and nephews.

The funeral service will be held Tuesday, July 5 at 12:30 p.m. from graveside in Moseley Cemetery, with Rev. Steve Speer, Rev. Gary Howell and Rev. Ed Flener officiating.  

Active pallbearers are Ed Flener, Daniel Driver, Ryan Driver, Tyler Pickle, Kevin Gorham and Ronnie Croy. Honorary Pallbearers are Pruitt Hospice, Ashley Smith and Kaitlin Gulledge.  

The Family will receive friends on Tuesday at the funeral home from 11 a.m.-noon.
