River Gallery Announces July Exhibits With Opening Reception July 8

  • Tuesday, July 5, 2022
The River Gallery announces their July exhibits.

James Courtenay James uses traditional oil painting techniques dating back to the 15th Century. "His narrative pieces create a selective realism that encourages looking deeper than the surface," officials said.

Lee Malerich designs her pieces to represent human characteristics built from the detritus of human life: spoiled parts of furniture, old toys, tools and other wooden things that serve mankind.

Cynthia Tollefsrud, drawing on her color-rich Scandinavian heritage, uses layers of glaze and paint to create the intense palette of her oil paintings.  The subject matter is influenced by old photographs from the early 1900’s or her random musings.

All three artists will be in attendance at the Exhibit Opening Reception this Friday from 5:30-7 p.m.  "Sip on some wine, snack on some pastries from Rembrandt's and enjoy the new collection," officials said.
