Larry Bernard Williams, 71, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, June 29, 2022, at his residence.

He was born to Doris Glatt on September 17, 1950. Larry was a graduate of Riverside High School, class of ’68. After high school, he joined the U.S. Marine Corps and received a Purple Heart. He later retired from the United States Postal Service.

Larry was preceded in death by his grandmother, Eula Robinson; mother, Doris Glatt; brother, Terry Glatt; uncle, J.C. Williams; and cousin, James Williams, Jr.; aunts, Catherine Williams and Deborah Burke Keys.

Survivors include his son, Matthew Williams, Sr.; daughter, Brittany Williams; grandchildren, Matthew Williams, Jr. and Malachi Williams; brother, Gregory Hargett; sisters, Deborah Glatt, Regina Glatt (David), and Cassandra Glatt, all of Chattanooga; several nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.

Larry will lie in state on Friday, July 8, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at noon in the chapel with Pastor Ron B. Cook, Sr. as the eulogist.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
