Alice Irene Rice, 85, of Harrison, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, August 10, 2022.  It is with deep sadness that the family announces her passing. 

She was born in Harrisburg, Pa. on June 10, 1937 to Cyril Pickles and Annis Thomas.  Alice enjoyed spending time with her family and sharing stories of the past.  Her family will always remember her for her contagious laugh.  She was a loving wife, mother, sister and grandmother who will be deeply missed.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Donald Rice; parents, Cyril Pickles and Annis Thomas; brother, Ronnie Pickles; and sisters, Violet Pericott, Vivian Gorelle and June Thompson.

She is survived by her children, Tricia (Leon) Smith, Michael (Donna) Rice, Bruce (Wendy) Rice, and Donna (Marvin) Elkins; grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Jason (Brittany) Rice, Amber Rice, Laura Rice, Joseph Elkins, Christopher Rice and Lucee Crook; brother, Stanley (Elke) Pickles, and several nieces and nephews.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, Aug. 15, at 10:30 a.m. at Chattanooga National Cemetery.

Alice will then be laid to rest with her husband, Donald Rice.
