Irvin Clay Smith, 85, of Rossville, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2022. He was born and raised in Kentucky and has resided in the North Georgia and Chattanooga area since 1968. 

He attended Faith Baptist Church and served in the National Guard. He loved watching all sports and was an umpire in East Ridge for many years. Irvin also enjoyed recording music and sporting events for friends who were unable to watch them live. 

He is preceded in death by his mother, Beulah Smith; brother, Paul Stewart Smith; and daughter, Sharon Brooks. 

He is survived by his daughters, Karen (Rick) Pendergrass, Sandra (Mark) Gamble and Lora (David) Johnson; grandchildren, Sara, Lori, Mandy, Geoff, Eric and Dusty; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Jaycob, Kaden, Tinley, Daynen, Bryleigh and Isaiah; great-great-grandson, Coop; as well as several extended family and friends. 

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 4-8 p.m. at the funeral home and on Friday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 30 in the funeral home chapel, with Dr. Rob Borders officiating. Interment will follow in the Tennessee ~ Georgia Memorial Park.
