Hurst, Peggy Jo Wilson (Trenton)

In the early morning on Tuesday, September 27, 2022, Peggy Jo (Wilson) Hurst left her earthly home in Trenton and went home to be with her Heavenly Father, after battling dementia for several years. She was 87 years of age, born on Feb. 2, 1935 to the late Sidney and Mary (Pangle) Wilson.

Everyone is invited to attend a Celebration of Life and Homegoing for Peggy at 3:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 4 at the Trenton Chapel of Moore Funeral Home, with Reverend Brian Whitmore officiating. She will be laid to rest beside her beloved husband at Shantytown Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Monday, Oct. 3 from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 11 a.m. until the funeral hour. There will be a dove release following the gravesite service.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Reverend Arville Hurst; son, James “Jack” Hurst; son-in-law, Robert Harbaugh, Sr.; brother, Willard Crook; and birth mother, Beadie Coley.

Left to cherish her memories are her loving daughters, Marcia Harbaugh and Andrea (Clarence) Wright; daughter-in-law, Joyce (Dan) Huddleston; grandchildren, Robert Harbaugh, Jr., Julia Harbaugh, Jennifer (Chad) Comstock, Jameson (Lesley) Hurst, Candace Harbaugh, Alecia Pollard, Robert (Taylor) Harbaugh, Krystal Harbaugh and Ashley Ford; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins; sisters, Gladys (Dencil) House and Judy Cleckler; and brother, Jerry Martin.

Peggy Hurst was married to Reverend Arville Hurst for 65 years. He was a well-known minister who evangelized and pastored in the Church of God for more than 60 years. He pastored churches in Tennessee, Georgia, Kentucky, Ohio, North Carolina and Florida.

Peggy Hurst spent her life working for God alongside her husband and loved helping people. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, who dearly loved her family and her church family. She had worked at Volunteer Insurance Company and Pruett’s Food Town Office. She taught Sunday School, Children’s Church, and worked in the Music Ministry. She will be missed by all who were touched by her presence.

Pallbearers will be Robert Harbaugh, Jr., Jamey Hurst, Chad Comstock, Clarence Wright, David Wright and Brad Brown.
