Peggy Nelson May departed this earthly life on Saturday, January 14, 2023, at the age of 83.

Peggy was born on January 27, 1939, to the late Roy and Ruby (Roddy) Nelson of Soddy Daisy. She was a devout, third generation member of the Dividing Ridge Church of God.

She was preceded in death by her son, Terry Nelson May; her husband of 56 years, Samuel M. May; and sister, Marie Petty (Eldon).

Peggy is survived by her sister Sharon N. Hobbs (Charles) of Hixson. She also had a very close relationship to her nieces, Deedee Dalrymple (Heath) and Ryann Scutella (Chris), and great nephews, Grayson Scutella and Jacob Dalrymple, all of Soddy Daisy. She also leaves behind several more nieces and nephews.

Services will be held at 1 p.m on Tuesday, Jan. 17, at the Williamson and Sons Funeral Home in Soddy Daisy with Pastor TJ Tallent officiating. Burial will immediately follow at the Dividing Ridge Cemetery with pallbearers, Charles Hobbs, David Petty, Heath Dalrymple, Chris Scutella, Terry Underwood, and Wendell Mueller.

The family will receive visitors on Monday, Jan. 16, from 4-8 p.m. and Tuesday, Jan. 17, from 11 a.m. to the service at 1 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to the Diving Ridge Church at 9400 Hixson Pike in Soddy Daisy, Tn. 37379.
