Hoar Construction Increases National Reach With Larger Presence In Chattanooga

  • Thursday, January 5, 2023

Hoar Construction announced Thursday the opening of a larger office in Chattanooga to cement the firm’s presence in the eastern part of Tennessee, Northwest Georgia and Northeast Alabama and expand capabilities with this new space. Chattanooga was the second Tennessee-based office for Hoar Construction, joining their established presence in Nashville and is the firm’s ninth office nationwide.

“We’ve been in Chattanooga long enough that this larger space has become a necessity to support our projects in the area,” said Hoar Senior Vice President Jason Bennett. “Over the past three years, we’ve developed solid relationships in healthcare, higher education, and industrial market sectors, and we’re excited to build on that success with our expanded capabilities.”

"This is really about growth for us,” said Hoar Project Executive Will Gaither. “We’re a local contractor as much as a national one. We live here, our children go to school here, and we want to be a much bigger part of building the kind of community we’re proud of. Our new space and location represent that commitment, as you can see from our past and current projects map wall art and furnishings from local craftspeople.”

Hoar Construction formally established its first office in Tennessee in 2001, but the firm’s work across the state dates back to the 1980s. Hoar has had a consistent presence in Chattanooga since 2015 having completed multiple projects at UTC, along with the recently completed Chattanooga Airport Parking Garage, Gestamp Industrial Plant and Volkswagen Battery Test Facility. Current projects under construction include the Southern Champion Tray Plant Expansion, a project at Chattanooga State and a project for Erlanger Health, where they’ve also previously completed work.

"I’m excited to celebrate our continued commitment to Chattanooga with the opening of this office,” said Mr. Gaither. “I know our relationships with our clients in East Tennessee are only growing stronger, and I hope we will continue to find new opportunities in this market to grow our Hoar Construction brand.”

In the past four years, Hoar has seen an 84 percent increase in employment in Chattanooga and a 75 percent increase in the number of projects worked on in the market. Hoar’s Chattanooga division has also increased its revenue from $7 million in its first year to $50 million in 2022.

The Chattanooga office is at 1300 Broad St., Suite 201 in the Southside neighborhood of Chattanooga.
