The Lee University Percussion Ensemble, conducted by Dr. Andy Harnsberger, will host its fall concert on Sunday at 3 p.m. in Pangle Hall.

The performance will feature pieces such as “Overkill” and “Coming Undone” by Harnsberger, “Six of One” by Chad Floyd, and “Coming Home” by Steve Gisby, among others.

“The ensemble members have worked extremely hard this semester to raise their performance to a new level,” said Dr. Harnsberger, professor of percussion at Lee. “My two compositions are especially difficult and were written specifically for the Lee University percussion ensemble years ago, and we can’t wait to share them, and the other pieces, with the audience.”

The Percussion Ensemble performs a wide variety of music written expressly for percussion which allows students to experience a variety of music including contemporary genres, world music, and improvisation. Selections range from chamber works for three to four performers to works utilizing many instruments. The group presents fall and spring concerts annually.

Along with conducting percussion ensemble, Dr. Harnsberger is in demand as a recitalist and clinician across the country and internationally, presenting clinics and masterclasses at as many as 40 universities per year. He is also a performing artist and clinician for Malletech Instruments and Mallets, Remo Drum Heads, Sabian Cymbals, Ltd., and Grover Pro Percussion.

This event is free, non-ticketed, and open to the public. Livestream viewing will also be available at leeu.live. Pangle Hall is on the corner of Church Street and Central Avenue.
