Austin Hatcher Foundation To Host 4th Annual Bubbles Of Fun Run

  • Friday, November 17, 2023
The Austin Hatcher Foundation for Pediatric Cancer will host the fourth annual Bubbles of Fun Run on Saturday, Feb. 10, 2024. This fun, family-friendly race will take place at the Tennessee Riverpark’s Hubert Fry Center, Shelter #4, and will include 5K and 10K timed races, as well as a one-mile “fun run” for those not looking to officially time their race.

"The Bubbles of Fun Run not only inspires a sense of joy and hope that supports families affected by pediatric cancer, but also provides a fun way to get exercise with a supportive community," officials said.

The 5K and 10K will kick off at 9 a.m., with the one-mile fun run beginning shortly after at 9:30 a.m.
All runners will receive Austin Hatcher Foundation swag bags, including a t-shirt and specialty-designed medals. The 5K and 10K races will be chip-timed by the Chattanooga Track Club, with the top three winners of each gender group receiving local gift cards and certificates.

"The Bubbles of Fun Run event is a celebration of joy and hope as runners help raise funds to provide a brighter future for families with pediatric cancer," officials said. "In keeping with the foundation’s logo, bubbles will be blown at the finish line, filling the course with an uplifting and hope-filled atmosphere. Runners are encouraged to bring their families, as there will be activities for children throughout the morning."

“We are thrilled for another year of the Bubbles of Fun Run to benefit the Austin Hatcher Foundation," said Georgia Moore, Events and Community Relations manager at AHF. "After nearly tripling the number of registrations last year from years past, we are excited to bring back a fun, family-friendly experience to all who join us.”

Local participants and spectators are encouraged to create a personal fundraising page for this event. Everyone can make an impact by sharing their page on social media and among friends and family to raise awareness and additional funds for the Austin Hatcher Foundation. Those who cannot attend the race in Chattanooga can still register and run virtually anywhere in the world. Fundraising pages and more info can be found at www.HatcherFoundation.org/run.

“Though we aren’t able to officially time our virtual runners, the opportunity for anyone in the world to join us on Feb. 10 is incredible,” said Ms. Moore. “No matter where you live-whether you’re a seasoned runner or just looking to get involved in giving back- this event is for you.”

Registration is open now at www.HatcherFoundation.org/run. For those running in-person at the Tennessee Riverpark, the race will be held at Shelter #4, located near the entrance of the riverwalk found at 4301 Amnicola Hwy. in Chattanooga.

This year’s event is sponsored by C&K’s Snowy Delights, Vision Hospitality Group, Edward Jones Geo Mejia, CityScope and HealthScope Magazine, Chattanooga City Lifestyle, Brewer Media and Whitfield Media Group. Businesses, individuals and companies are still encouraged to sponsor the run. Sponsorship options are still available in a variety of levels from $500 to $10,000. If you are interested in sponsoring, contact Melanie Hammontree at melanie@hatcherfoundation.org.

Funds raised through the Bubbles of Fun Run directly impact and provide services for children and families with the tools to cope in the present and thrive in the future after childhood cancer. Families of the foundation are provided with services such as Mental and Behavioral Health Therapy, Occupational Therapy, NeuroPsych Testing, Family Programs and more at absolutely no cost to them.
