Brenda Taylor, 71, of Chattanooga, passed away on Tuesday, November 21, 2023.

She graduated from Howard High School class of 1970. She attended Edmondson Junior college, where she graduated with her associate's degree. Brenda was a member at Hamlett Chapel CME and was a part of the missionary society.

She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Charlie (Pauline) Moore; brother, Terry Moore; sisters, Patricia Nard and Carolyn Carmicheal; husband of 51 years, Harold Taylor, Sr.

Survivors include her sons, Lydell (Kimberly) Moore and Harold (Terrica) Taylor, Jr. both of Chattanooga; daughters; Shawanna (Tommy) Moore and Hollan Chunae Taylor both of Chattanooga; 10 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; brothers, Lionel (Margie) Moore of Harriman, TN, and Charlie Moore, Jr. of New Bern, NC; sister, Mary (Donald) Sanderfur; sister-in-laws, Elnora (Roy) Miller of Chattanooga, JoAnn (James) Harris of Rossville, GA, Sandra (Ed) Parker and Jean (Slick) Roberts both of Chattanooga; aunt, Margarine Cooper of Chattanooga; special niece, Angela (Phillips) Davis; son-in-loves, Demetrius Edwards and Tommy Stewart; best friend, Loretta (Jimmy) Jenkins; a host of other relatives and friends.

She will lie in state on Thursday, Nov. 30, at 9 a.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will follow at noon in the chapel with Pastor Henry McClain as the eulogist.

Burial will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
