Covenant's Kalbfleisch Named Honorable Mention All-American

The American Volleyball Coaches Association announced its 2023 Division III All-American teams this afternoon. 

From the Scots, Emma Kalbfleisch was named Honorable Mention. She becomes the first player since 2017 from Covenant to earn AVCA All-American Honors. Kalbfleisch is also just the third player ever in program history to be named an AVCA All-American. 

Kalbfleisch was a leader on a team that broke a school record with 35 wins and won its Conference Regular Season and Tournament Championships.
The Scots also advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament for the second time ever and were nationally ranked by the AVCA for the first time in school history. 

For the season, she led the conference in kills with 405 and kills per set with 3.27. She was also efficient on the attack with a .368 hitting percentage, which ranked second in the CCS. Another category she led the conference in this year was points with 516. Defensively, she finished second in the CCS with 84 total blocks and posted 248 digs. Lastly, Kalbfleisch had 49 service aces on the year. 

Some of her other honors that she has racked up this season include, AVCA All-Region, CCS Player of the Year, First Team All-CCS, CCS All-Tournament Team, and a three-time CCS Weekly Award honoree.
