Earl Nicholas “Nick” Harman, 77, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family and went to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 9, 2023.

He was born in Princeton, W.V., and as a young boy his family moved to Orlando, Fl., where he grew up. Later he served in the Navy where he met his wife Paula.

Nick had a successful career for over 25 years and loved traveling with his work, wife and family. He loved music, golfing, and sharing his quick wit and a glass of wine with friends and family. Nick cherished the Lord and his family. He was a mentor to many and like his father enjoyed being called “Papa” by his grandchildren.

Special thoughts from his grandson are that “Men like Papa are a rarity. He is truly a legend. He definitely took after his dad and my dad takes after him. It’s a blessing to come from a long line of great men. I feel like it’s our obligation to Papa now that we carry his name and the legacy he created with us the rest of our lives. Sharing and instilling all the wonderful qualities Papa shared to us. Love that man and will miss him dearly but I’m comforted in the fact he is relieved from his earthly suffering. God bless him”

Nick was preceded in death by his parents, Earl “Papa” and Ouida “Mona” Harman.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 56 years, Paula Harman; children, Matthew (Jo Ellen) Harman, Ryan (Joy) Harman, Julie (Andrew) Galea, Erin (Gary) Patterson; grandchildren, Alexandria (Rashidi) Mullins, Ethan and Owen Harman, Emmy, Caroline and Anne Riley Harman, Nicholas and Joseph Galea and Wells (Sydney) Patterson; great grandchild, Gabriel Mullins; siblings, Reverend Steve (Mally) Harman; beloved nieces, nephews and other extended family members.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Hearth Hospice for the wonderful attention that Nick received while in their care.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date in North Carolina with the family. Please check back for updated information.
