Robert Thomas Andrews, Jr., 72, of Hixson, Tennessee, died on Sunday, December 3, 2023.

He was born on March 25, 1951, to the late Robert (Bob) Thomas Andrews and Alma Ruth Moser Andrews. Tommy attended City High School in Chattanooga. He was head crane operator and master iron worker for over 25 years. Tommy helped build the Chattanooga Round House (McKenzie Arena) and the Chickamauga Dam, along with a multitude of other well known projects that stretched all the way from St. Louis to Pittsburgh, and everywhere in between.

He loved the outdoors more than anything!!! When he wasn't hunting or nestled in the woods, you could find him in the kitchen cooking up a tasty meal. He loved watching old westerns or a good sermon on the TV and listening to his favorite classic rock tunes. He was loyal, incredibly funny and quick witted. He would give you the shirt off his back if you needed it. Tommy was a loving son, father, grandfather and friend.

Tommy is survived by his son, Robert (Robby) Thomas Andrews III; his daughters, Ashleigh Headrick and Shannon Andrews; three grandchildren, Addison, Hampton and Gabriel Andrews; Brother, Mark Andrews; Sisters, Lynn Andrews and Kristy Andrews Campbell and several nieces and nephews.

Please visit www.chattanooganorthchapel.com to share your memories of Tommy.

The family will be receiving friends from 11 a.m.– 1 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 9, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 1 p.m. at the North Chapel of Chattanooga Funeral Home, Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson, Tn. 37343.
