Davis, Iris Fox (Graysville)

Iris Fox Davis, age 94 of Graysville, passed away on Friday, December 8, 2023, at Life Care of Rhea County.

She was born in Sale Creek on July 10, 1929, the daughter of the late Columbus and Lola (Bolton) Fox. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Paul Davis.

Iris graduated from Rhea Central High School Class of 1946. She was raised in Graysville, then lived in Jacksonville, Fl., New Orleans, La., Houston, Tx., and Atlanta, Ga., returning to Graysville in 1992. She was a retired secretary with Eastern Airlines and was a member of Graysville United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her nephew, Nathan Bolton of Graysville; her niece, Becky Szalacinski of Estero, Fl.; and her step-son, David Davis of Fl.

Funeral services for Iris will be held at Graysville United Methodist Church on Wednesday, Dec. 13, at 12 p.m. with Rev. Glenn Moseley officiating. Iris will lie in state at the church one hour before the service. She will be laid to rest next to her husband in Pleasantview Cemetery.
