Barbara Mason Kennedy, 81, of East Brainerd, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 1, 2023.

A longtime resident of Chattanooga, Mrs. Kennedy was the former co-owner of Kennedy Jewelers for many years and was a member of Brainerd Hills Baptist Church.

She always enjoyed spending time with her siblings, children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Kennedy was preceded in death by her siblings, Olene Guffey, Eugene Mason, Helen Hornaday, Charles Mason, Della Mae Grant, and Howard Mason.

She is survived by her husband of almost 64 years, B.D. (Wayne) Kennedy; three sons, Jeff (Michaele) Kennedy, Shane Kennedy, and Jeremy (Amy) Kennedy; grandchildren, Amber Kennedy, Josh Kennedy, Abaigaele Kennedy, Mason Kennedy, Jackson Kennedy, Kollin Kennedy, and Karoline Kennedy; 4 great-grandchildren, sisters, Mary Lou Day, Gertrude Cecil, Norma Sanderson, Bessie Bryant, and Annie (Johnny) Hooper; brothers, Jack (Carol) Mason, and Cecil (Claudette) Mason; along with many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive close friends and family from 1-3 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 5, followed by a short service in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jeff Clark officiating. The burial will be private.

Arrangements are by Heritage Funeral Home, 7454 E. Brainerd Road.
