Born in Santa Monica, Ca. on Jan. 4, 1941, Bob spent his first 62 years in his beloved California. He moved to Las Vegas, Ne., in 2003 when he married Jane Martin Armstrong, his wife of 20 years. Bob and Jane moved to the Chattanooga, Tn. area in 2020.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Ruth Pettis Pullman Gittings, father, William Evans Jack, stepmother Lois Cameron Jack, son, William Christopher Jack and brother, Donald Tucker Hodel.

Bob is survived by his son, James (Nery) Jack of Lake Arrowhead, Ca., Nicole (David) Beck of Gillette, Wy., and grandchildren, Zach Beck, Rick Beck, Chris Jack, and Niki Jack. Bob and Jane have a blended family to include son, George (Penny) Morse, daughter, Marcia George and grandchildren, Tyler George, Ethan George, Benjamin Morse, and Vivian Morse. Also surviving Bob are his sister, Jenny (Bill) Lawrence of Yorba Linda, Ca., brother Jim Jack of Lake Chapala, MX, sister Judy Jack of California, and many special cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Bob loved his native Southern California with passion. He graduated from Citrus Union High School (now Glendora HS) in 1958 in Glendora, Ca. Bob graduated from California State University of Los Angeles in 1963 with high honors with a BA in Economics. He was then elected to Beta Gamma Sigma, a national scholastic honor society for business and economics. He later graduated with a BA degree from Azusa Pacific University and a Master of Science degree in Advanced Management from The Peter F. Drucker School of Business at Claremont Graduate University in Claremont, CA.

Bob enjoyed an active and stimulating career in business during which he worked for Aerojet-General Corp, Chevron Corp, Scripps Institution of Oceanography, and General Atomic Company. Bob retired from Parsons Corporation in Pasadena, Ca., after 24 years of service in 2000.

As a youth, Bob was fond of sports, in particular baseball which he played into his college years and pitched batting practice for the San Diego Padres in 1969. Growing up, and into later life, Bob was an avid fan of the Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Rams, LA Lakers, and the USC Trojans. Bob credits a great deal of his happiness and success in his life to his grandparents Will and Dorothy Jack who devoted a great deal of love and inspiration in Bob’s youth and into his young adult life.

In both his professional and retirement years Bob was fortunate to travel extensively visiting such places as the Middle East, Europe, Australia, New Zealand, China, Russia, the Holy Land, and Finland, and was an extensive traveler in North America. Although Bob loved to write, in his later life his views were published frequently in newspapers throughout the United States including the Las Vegas Sun, the Las Vegas Review-Journal, the Washington Times, the NY Times and the LA Times.

Bob authored seven books that can be found at Bob Jack books. Bob was a frequent guest on several podcasts.

Bob enjoyed his family and his friendships and found great strength and encouragement in his Christian faith and in Alcoholics Anonymous.

Bob’s wife and family would like to thank Dr. William Warren and his nurse Meredith of the Chattanooga Heart Institute, Dr. John B. Biglane of the Ascension St. Thomas Hospital in Nashville, the staff on the 6th floor of CHI Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga, the staff at Kindred Hospital in Chattanooga, the staff at Martin Boyd Christian Home, Hospice of Chattanooga, especially nurses Kim Sweeton and Dwight Somers, and the Hospice of Chattanooga Care Center for the outstanding care and support they gave Bob.
