The Baylor boys soccer team traveled to the Siegel Soccer Complex to participate in the Meet Me in the Middle Tournament sponsored by Baylor School, Houston High School, and Tennessee State Soccer Association this past weekend.
Baylor played Bearden in the first game Saturday morning and tied 1-1.
In the 9th minute, Bearden's Jack Raulston hit a laser from 25 yards out to go up 1-0.
It stayed 1-0 at halftime.
In the 46th minute, Baylor's Gui Gragnano scored to tie the game 1-1.
Both teams had chances to win it but it ended in a tie.
In the afternoon game, Baylor beat Hendersonville 3-2 after playing to a 1-1 tie at the half.
In the 30th minute, Hendersonville scored off a shot from 12yds out.
In the 32nd minute, Baylor tied the game when Nathan Andreotti scored off a David Mitchell pass.
Henderson took the lead after halftime, scoring in the 45th minute.
Baylor's Gui Gragnano scored off a penalty kick in the 47th minute and scored again in the 49th off a pass from David Mitchell.
"Really proud of our boys against Bearden to play at a high level," Baylor head coach Curtis Blair said. "We created some great chances and this should help us moving forward. The win against Hendersonville was a total team effort. We showed a lot of character to continue to come back. Really proud of our guys. Our schedule has been brutal and we continue to find a way to compete against great competition."
Standouts: Eli Jackson, Mac Hickman, Hayden Techasiriwan, Eric Fossen, Flynn Watson- Brown in goal.
Baylor is now 3-0-1.
