Lee University is hosting its Senior Art Showcase in the Squires Library Fine Art Gallery. The showcase, with its opening reception held on March 23 at 6 p.m., is on display now until April 3.

The showcase displays original bodies of thematic work from graduating art majors. The artist’s statements are posted with each work to give viewers a sense of the artist’s vision and methods.

The seniors whose work will be displayed in the exhibition are Dierdre Gifford, Makenzie Muratore, Cassidy Robinson, Katie Blake, and Joss Espinal.

There will be many different forms of art displayed, such as shoe art, photography, paintings, drawings, and prints.

“All of the shoes have significance for the intended wearers,” said Ms. Gifford about her process of personalizing shoes. “Some are designed as compositions inspired by literature, television, or places that are meaningful to the wearer.”

The Senior Art Showcase is free and open to the public during regular operating hours of the library which can be found by visiting https://leeuniversity.libguides.com/homepage.

This is the first of two Senior Shows with the second show starting on April 13.
