Edward Seymour Zackery, 54, of Chattanooga, passed away on Wednesday, March 15, 2023, in a local hospital.

He was born on Dec. 18, 1968, in Chattanooga, Tn., to Willie J. Zackery and Wanda Pride Wheelous. He was a 1987 graduate of Brainerd High School and attended UTC. Edward, known as “Zack” to his friends and classmates was a kind and gentle soul. He would do anything for anyone if he was able to. Edward was the calm in the storm and always tried to bring peace to any situation. Some of his favorite pastimes included playing pool with his close friends, watching UFC with his son, and listening to old school music. He was formerly employed by BI-LO Warehouse for 10 plus years, managed the Radio Shack for over 15 years, and was currently employed at Concentrix Solutions until his untimely death.

Edward was preceded in death by his father, Willie Zackery; grandparents, Marshall Pride, Sr. and Eliza P. Naylor; and aunts, Julia Stovall, Dorothy Pride, and Brenda Zackery.

Survivors include his wife of 19 years, Yvonne White Zackery; son, DeAnte’ Zackery; stepson, Jawan White; mother, Wanda Wheelous; brother, James Zackery, all of Chattanooga; uncle, Marshall (Linda) Pride, Sr.; aunts, Edna Spralling and Marcella Nelms; nephew, DeAngelo Zackery; nieces, Iesha Zackery and Deshaun Zackery; cousin, Eric Marshall Pride, Jr.; brothers-in-law, Kenneth L. White of Jacksonville, FL and Napoleon White of Chattanooga; sister-in-law, Sharon (Cyrus) Williams of Maryland; best friend, Rodney “Buc” Terrell; several cousins; other relatives and friends.

Edward will lie in state on Monday, March 27, from 12:30-5 p.m. at Taylor Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be on Tuesday, March 28, at 11 a.m. in the chapel with Pastor Kenneth Simpson as the eulogist. Burial will be in Forest Hills Cemetery.
