Mary Dove Crumbliss
Mary Dove Crumbliss, 81, of Chattanooga, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023.
A lifelong resident of Chattanooga, Mrs. Crumbliss was a longtime member at Oakwood Baptist Church, where she had served as a greeter and a member of the Ladies Sunday school class.
She was an avid tennis player and a longtime member of Manker Patten Tennis Club. She enjoyed gardening, bird watching, hiking and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Crumbliss was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Terry Crumbliss; her parents, Vernon, Margaret and Ernestine “Teenie” Dove; and two brothers, William (Bill) Cross and Vernon Dove, Jr.
Survivors are her children, Kerry (Joel) Denton, of Chattanooga; Karen Suzanne Crumbliss, of Nashville, and Rob (Paige) Crumbliss, of Ringgold; four grandchildren, Alex (Angela) Denton, Caroline (Jeffrey) Marks, Maggie Crumbliss and Sam Crumbliss; four great-grandchildren, Henry Marks, Alison Denton, Aubrey Marks and Aaron Denton; two sisters, Judy (Allen) Wilson, of Harrison, and Terri (Jimmy) Mabry, of Hixson; sister-in-law, Patsy Cross, of Sebring, Fl.; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, March 29 at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Rev. Ken Clark officiating and remarks by Sam Crumbliss and Caroline Marks. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Alex Denton, Sam Crumbliss, Jeffrey Marks, Ron Cross, Jim Allen and Hammet Blackwell. Honorary pallbearers will be Allen Wilson, Jimmy Mabry, Russ Collins, and Jerry Hendricks.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 7625 Hamilton Park Dr. #6, Chattanooga, Tn. 37421.
The family would like to thank the staff at The Lantern at Morning Pointe for their love and care given to Mrs. Crumbliss.
