Leland (Bill) F. Revis, 94, died peacefully in his sleep on Mar 24, 2023 in Starr Regional Hospital in Athens. Bill was born Aug. 8, 1928, in Dayton to Richard and Mattie Revis of Old Washington. He married Mary Ella Sullivan of Dayton in 1949 and had two children, Billy Lynn and Rhonda Ann. They moved to Bradenton, Fl. in 1953, where he was a contractor, building custom homes for the next 30 years. They returned to Dayton in 1983 and he continued building custom homes for another 40 years. He loved golfing, boating, fishing, dancing and oysters. His gift was being mechanically inclined to fix anything with an engine and create custom woodwork; our MacGyver. He was loved by anyone who knew him.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Mary, of 64 years; his son, Billy, at age 24; his parents; three brothers, Joe, Buddy and Richard Revis; and two sisters, Mary Ellen Gornik and Hazel Brady.

Bill is survived by his only child & caretaker, Rhonda Bolding, of Naples, Fl.; only grandchild, Chris Benfield, of Dayton; and two great-granddaughters, Ashlyn Benfield, of Athens and Gabby Benfield, of Chattanooga.

He is sorely missed by his family and forever loved!

In honor of his wishes, there will be no public services at this time. You can however share a memory of Bill and/or your personal condolences with his family by visiting his memorial webpage and guestbook at www.companionfunerals.com.

Companion Funeral Home of Athens is honored to assist his family with these arrangements.
