Betty Ann Card
Betty Ann Card, 82, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away on April 12, 2023.
Betty was born on Aug. 9, 1940, in Johnson City, Tn. She was an avid golfer and developed many wonderful friendships through the sport. Betty and James were members of GraceWorks Church. She deeply loved her family and they were her focus. Betty was so proud to serve in the Secret Service under President John F. Kennedy and was employed for 35+ years at BASF Corporation in Chattanooga, and Charlotte, N.C. She was a lifetime auxiliary member of the VFW Post 1289.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Lewis and Mabel Lee (Presley) Depew; her husband of 35 years, James E. Card, Sr.; her brother, Joe (Lucy) Depew; her sister, Mary (Bruce) Hopson; and her nephew, Jamie Lewis Hopson.
Left behind to cherish her memory are her children, James E. (Carla) Card, Jr., Angela Card and Diane (Jeff) Holmes, and Tim (Bea) Lingerfelt; her niece, Paige (Barry) Rogers; eight grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held from 12 to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, with A Celebration of Betty’s Life to follow at 1 p.m. at the funeral home. An inurnment of ashes at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 19, at Chattanooga National Cemetery.
