Hazel Vickers
Hazel Vickers was the most loving wife, mother, grandmother, and "Grammy" anyone could ever aspire to be, or hope to have as their own.
She put her family first and always made sure her family had what they needed and more. She was a devout Christian who not only attended church regularly as a member of Abba's House (formerly Central Baptist), but she demonstrated what it means to be a Christian every day of her life through her words and actions. She was an inspiration and role model whose love for us never failed. She was sharp as a tack and stubborn as a bull, and when she set her mind on something, she wouldn't take no for an answer. She spent her last few years continuing to do the things she enjoyed so much throughout her life, such as gardening, cooking, studying her Bible, and spending time with friends and family as often as possible. Nothing could slow her down until Jesus decided it was time for her to come home.
She left us with such wonderful memories, and will be missed by many, especially her daughter, Sheila Dianne Vickers, granddaughters Susan Presley Hof (Jason) and Stefanie Presley Gleaton (Jay), great grand sons Beau Cordell and Bryson Cordell, great granddaughter Harleigh Hof; sisters-Mabel Fay, Jennie Williams, Linda OBrien, and brother-Fred Hooten (Marina). Also, many other relatives and friends who loved her dearly, including Linda Miller, and Rusha Woodson.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband-Melvin Vickers, Calvin Boyd Hooten-Father; Ruby Prince Hooten-Mother; brothers-Allie Boyd Hooten, and Calvin Hooten.
