Massey’s Kitchen, which will have a grand opening Monday, has been previewing the new restaurant this weekend. It is on the way to becoming Chattanooga’s newest gathering place – exactly what it was designed to be, said owner Allen Corey.
Both the food and the setting are casual. The Mediterranean-inspired menu includes a selection of sandwiches, pizzas and salads using ingredients imported from Italy and Greece.
Everything on the menu including all breads, sauces and dressings are made in house from scratch. The only item on the menu that is all-American is a hamburger. Diners will also find a selection of beers, wines and cocktails.
The space has been planned to flow seamlessly from inside to out through large garage doors that roll open to the colorful patio. And windows have been replaced with more garage doors opening to the sidewalk where there is additional seating.
The atmosphere is lively and fun and encourages mixing and mingling and the service is fast and friendly.
This is the kind of restaurant that will not be reserved for only special occasions, it is a place that will be visited repeatedly.
