Angie Gay
The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Chattanooga, has named Angie Gay as its new executive director.
In this role, Ms. Gay oversees daily operations at the Alzheimer’s and memory care community at 7620 Shallowford Road. She works with a team of directors, nurses, nursing assistants and other support staff to provide resident care and family support.
Ms. Gay has been a nurse for 24 years, working in geriatrics, assisted living and hospice. Years ago, she served as a floor nurse at The Lantern at Morning Pointe of Chattanooga.
“I enjoy the interaction with residents, families and the amazing staff here,” said Ms.
Gay. “Memory care is different than any other type of nursing. Even though the residents might not always be able to communicate, each individual has a history and their own special personality.”
“Angie’s experience as a nurse, specifically with geriatrics, her positive personality and her compassion for the residents is what makes her the perfect person for this position,” said Abby Medley, vice president of operations for Morning Pointe Senior Living’s Appalachian Region. “She will be an excellent advocate and resource for our residents’ families as they are navigating this difficult journey with their loved one.”
Originally from Detroit, Mi., Ms. Gay currently resides in Cleveland. She and her husband, Brian, have three children: Molly, Timothy and Ethan, and her hobbies revolve around their interests.
"The Lantern at Morning Pointe Alzheimer’s Center of Excellence, Chattanooga offers specialized clinical care and programming for early to moderately severe stages of Alzheimer’s that focus on individual interests, life experiences and personal strengths to ensure each resident benefits from personalized and purposeful support," officials said.
