Geneal Lewis
Geneal Lewis, 71, of Chattanooga, passed away on Sunday, June 4, 2023, at his residence.
He attended George Washington Carver High School in Altgeld Gardens in Chicago. He was a veteran of the United States Army. Geneal retired from the City of Chattanooga after 20 years of service.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Middie Dee (James) Lewis; and father, Zack Carter.
Survivors include his devoted wife of 32 years, Elizabeth Lewis; sons, Zackery Lewis and Terry Lewis; light of his life, grandbabies, Zy’Anna and Ty’Lan; siblings, Trudy Lewis, Gladys (Jesse) Canty, Carrie Carter, and Hillard (Harriet) Carter; two sisters in Christ, Lillie Herkley and Pricilla Avery; best friend, Jose Monzon; a host of nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be on Wednesday, June 14, at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Taylor Funeral Home with Pastor Michael Avery giving words of comfort.
Interment will be in Chattanooga National Cemetery.
