The Chattanooga Division of Transportation announced emergency land closures on southbound Central Avenue between E. 4th Street and E. 3rd Street.
The section of Central Ave heading south between E 4th Street and E 3rd Street is currently closed because of a sinkhole caused by a sewer and water main break. Crews from Public Works and Tennessee American Water are on their way to address the situation. To evaluate the damage to the road, the crews may need to implement more lane closures.
