Willie Pearl Farmer
Mrs. Willie Pearl Farmer was born on February 13, 1938, to the late Mr. William Otto Marshall, Sr., and Ms. Nancy Jane Robinson. She transitioned to be with the Lord on June 5, 2023.
Willie Pearl was raised by the late Mrs. Dollie W. Mackey.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Mr. Otto Marshall, Jr., and James Edward Marshall; sister, Mrs. Wilma Jean Foster; a very special aunt/uncle, Mrs. Ida (Arthur) Huggins.
Willie Pearl was born in Corinth, Ms., and later moved to Lafayette, Ga., where she graduated from Hill High School in1957.
Willie Pearl was married to the late Mr. Spellman Farmer, Jr., and traveled with him while he was in the Air Force to later settle in Chattanooga.
Willie Pearl was employed with the Chattanooga Public School System as a kindergarten aide until her retirement due to health issues.
Willie Pearl united with Second Missionary Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She also served with the 20th Century Club Ministry, the nursery, and the choir ministry.
Willie Pearl loved working with children.
Willie Pearl leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Tongeia “Toni” Farmer; two grandchildren, Christopher Cousin, Sr. and Courtney Cousin; a great-grandson, Christopher Cousin, Jr; a host of family and friends.
Public viewing will be held on Thursday, June 15, starting at 2 p.m. until 6 p.m. with the family receiving friends at 5 p.m., at Second Missionary Baptist Church, 2305 East Third Street.
A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, June 16, at the church.
Interment will be in Lafayette City Cemetery, 103 Shaw Street North Highway 27.
