Renovated Norris Lake Access Area Reopens Ahead Of Schedule

  • Wednesday, August 9, 2023
Renovation of the Willard J. Brogan Access Area on Norris Lake that began in mid-July has been completed several weeks ahead of schedule.

A dedication ceremony was held last Friday, with subsequent striping of the parking area over the weekend and an official reopening on Monday.  The renovation project added an additional 36 boat trailer parking spaces and 20 vehicle spaces, resulting in 91 total parking spaces.

The second phase of the project will occur this winter when an additional 30’ wide ramp will be built while the lake is drawn down during winter pool.

The access area is owned by the Tennessee Valley Authority and licensed to TWRA and Claiborne County for development and access to Norris Lake.  Project funding was made available through a $316,761.23 grant provided by the Appalachian Regional Commission, TWRA, Claiborne County Government and Powell Valley Electrical Cooperative.
