Katherine Ann Ledford Roark, 89, of Chattanooga Tennessee, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on September 22, 2023, at the Memorial Hospital.
Born on June 19, 1934, in Chattanooga, she was the daughter of the late Lawrence Ledford and Ruth Rennow Ledford. Katherine (Kay\Sis\Grannie) was predeceased by husbands Albert Buchanan and Ruel Roark; sons Lawrence Weaver and Myron Weaver and by her siblings, Alton Ledford, James Ledford and Doris Messenger.
She is survived by her sister Mary Dupenthauler and devoted children, Robbie Weaver, Tim Buchanan, and Steve Buchanan; and her cherished grandchildren; Vicki Weaver, Clay Weaver, Kathy Weaver, Rachel Weaver, Zachary Weaver, Randy Kirby, Jeremy Murray, Tyler Higdon, Taylor Buchanan, Logan Buchanan, Wesley Buchanan. Many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Known for her gentle spirit, infectious smile, and outgoing personality, Grannie was very popular as a greeter to the Red Bank community working for McDonalds in her retirement years. She made everybody’s day better.
The family will be holding a graveside service at Brown Chapel Cemetery on Monday at 10 a.m.
Mom\Grannie legacy of love, knowledge, and grace will live on through the countless lives she touched. "To live in hearts we leave behind is not to die." In lieu of flowers she would want you to hug someone and leave them better than when you found them.
