River City Company and Outshine Adventure are calling all witches, warlocks and wizards to return to the Tennessee River for the second annual paddle on the Tennessee River. Leading up to Halloween, participants are welcomed to come out for a spooktacular paddle adventure.
The paddle event is open to kayaks, canoes and stand-up paddleboards as they take over the Tennessee River dressed as witches, warlocks and wizards.
Paddlers are invited to bring their own paddle crafts for free and rental paddleboards and kayaks will be available for those who don't have their own for $35 from local outfitters including Outshine Adventures, L2 Outside, Chattanooga Guided Adventures and Rock Creek Adventures.
“We're excited to partner with River City Company and other local outfitters to host the second annual Witch & Warlock Paddle in downtown Chattanooga.
It's a really fun way to engage our community and activate Chattanooga's riverfront through the power of paddle sports and we love it when we can engage new paddlers through events like this,” said Sunshine Loveless, founder of Outshine Adventures.
Outshine Adventures was founded in 2018 with just two paddleboards and an idea to get more folks out paddling. Over the past six seasons, Ms. Loveless has been able to connect hundreds of people with the joy of paddling through their guided experiences and partnerships with local organizations.
The Second Annual Witch and Warlock Paddle will embark at Rivermont Park for a 4.4 mile down river paddle to Coolidge Park. Attendees are encouraged to dress in their favorite Halloween costume, with a prize for best dressed. The event is open to those who have and have not paddled in the past, with guidance and supervision provided by Outshine Adventures and their partners. Individuals as young as 10 years old are invited to join with parental supervision.
“With the return of the Witch and Warlock Paddle, we are able to continue to expand the reach of providing fun and inclusive events that create an atmosphere welcoming to those with lots of experience and beginners. Through our ONE Riverfront planning process and Evolving our Riverfront Parks, we continue to hear how people want to physically connect with the river through a variety of activities,” said Emily Mack, president & CEO of River City Company.
