The Hamilton County Criminal Court Clerk’s office recently celebrated Breast Cancer Awareness month by dressing in pink. Deputy Clerks from all three offices joined together to remember one of their own that lost her battle with breast cancer several years ago.
“Merri Cate was loved by everyone in the office. She fought a hard battle, even coming to work when some would have stayed home,” Criminal Court Clerk Vince Dean said. “Our office rallied around her then and we pay honor to her memory now.
Officials said, "We also honor Debbie Cooper, shown in the photo to Mr.
Dean’s right, who has recently completed her treatment and has received positive reports."
“Having known Debbie for over 40 years, I knew her to be a tough fighter. She has gone through her treatments and kept her smile throughout. She has remained positive and we expected nothing but positive results.” Mr Dean said. “We now rally around her and proudly wear pink in support of her gallant fight. She’s got this.”
The Criminal Court Clerk’s office is the keeper of the records for all criminal court matters. They have three offices and 60 employees. Mr. Dean took over this office after leaving the Tennessee General Assembly in 2014.
