Margaret Byrd Lynch, 96, of Hixson, passed away Tuesday, November 5, 2024.

She was born in Forest City, N.C. Her family moved to Chattanooga after the Depression and she graduated from Red Bank High School in 1946. She married in 1950, raised four children and worked at Provident Life and Accident Co. until she retired in 1986. She enjoyed sewing, reading and traveling, but she enjoyed her precious grandchildren and great-grandchildren most of all.

Mrs. Lynch was a member of Rivermont Presbyterian Church for 56 years. She became a member of Dallas Bay Baptist Church in 2016. She loved the Lord Jesus Christ and was a devoted follower all her life, so we celebrate her journey home.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Dillon Lynch Jr.; her parents, Thomas Eugene and Cora Byrd; and her twin sister, Elisabeth Byrd Sellers.

Survivors include her daughters: Catherine (Dan) Bennett, Marsha (Lynn) Vandergriff and Janice (Bruce) Mercer; son, John D. Lynch III; grandchildren: Jennifer (Andrew) Nix, Amanda (Stephen) Webb, Christy (Jason) Bracewell and Carrie Lynch; great-grandchildren: Preston Nix, Blaklely Nix, Beau Bracewell and Ella Bracewell.

A graveside service will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, Nov. 14, in Chattanooga National Cemetery with Pastor Diane Stocker officiating.

Arrangements are entrusted to Lane Funeral Home, 601 Ashland Terrace, Chattanooga, Tn. 37415, 423 877-3524, lanefh.com.
