Scenic City Chorale Has Free Concert Dec. 1

  • Thursday, November 7, 2024

The public is invited to attend a Christmas concert presented by The Scenic City Chorale, under the direction of Jim Bailiff, on Sunday, Dec. 1, at 3 p.m. at First Cumberland Presbyterian Church, 1505 North Moore Road. The Chorale's performance, entitled “Home for Christmas,” will include familiar and new Advent and Christmas selections. The group will be accompanied by piano, organ and flute.

The concert is free but donations will be welcome. The Chorale is a 501(c)3 organization and all gifts are tax deductible.

The Scenic City Chorale is a not-for-profit community chorus of approximately 60 men and women from diverse geographic, economic and social backgrounds whose common denominator is a shared love of singing. Its mission is to be a community resource that serves its volunteer members while helping to grow an audience which enjoys beautiful music from all genres.

Organized in 1965 under the auspices of Senior Neighbors of Chattanooga, it has continued independently since 2013. Almost all of its members are retired senior citizens from throughout the Tennessee Valley who gather for weekly rehearsals from September through May and present winter and spring concerts along with performances for nursing homes and other groups.  All leadership positions and singers are volunteers.

If interested in becoming a member of The Scenic City Chorale, please email sceniccitychorale123@gmail.com.
