Melba Hill Stafford, 87, of Chattanooga went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, November 9, 2024.

Mrs. Stafford was a lifelong resident of Chattanooga and a member of the Community Baptist Church. She was a longtime member of Morris Hill Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years.

She was a master seamstress for most of her life.

Mrs. Stafford was preceded in death by her husband, Donald R. Stafford; son, Tim Stafford; parents, Bob and Lorine Whittle Hill; and brother, Leonard Hill.

She is survived by her daughters, Myrna Stafford, Chattanooga, Tammy (Dudley) Kerr, Spencer, TN; son, Donnie (Sandy) Stafford, Apison; daughter-in-law, Debbie Stafford, Ooltewah; three grandchildren, Lance Stewart, Jake Stafford, Jessica (Tommy) Costanzo; two great-grandchildren, Silas Stewart and Luca Costanzo; two sisters, Myrtle Cross, Chattanooga, and Thelma (Junior) Hullender, Ringgold; and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, November 14, at 12 noon in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Perry McAllister and Rev. Fletcher Farris officiating. Burial will follow at the Chattanooga National Cemetery with Lance Stewart, Jake Stafford, Lamar Haun, Donnie Ricketts, Wayne Cross, and Nathan Crowden serving as pallbearers.
