Warren Bruce Oliver, a beacon of love, a man of community service, and spiritual dedication, fell asleep in Christ and is awaiting the blessed resurrection. Warren passed away on December 1, 2024, in Collegedale, Tennessee, at the age of 81.

Born on Jan. 13, 1943, in Gladwin, Mi., Warren's life was a testament to the power of unconditional kindness and selfless service, deeply rooted in his faith and commitment to serving God and his community.

A devoted family man, Warren is survived by his children, Richard Oliver, Gina Oliver Parrish (Clinton), Robert Oliver (Judy), and Sarah Oliver Walker. His legacy of love continues through his ten grandchildren: Joshua Oliver (Anita), Amanda Oliver Schell (Daniel), Jarrod Oliver, Melia Oliver Arnold (Gavin), Amanda Scola Hess (Anthony), Jacob Scola, Rachel Oliver Freeman (Jim), Nathan Oliver, Phillip Walker, and Jonathan Walker. He was also a proud great-grandfather to Aiden Oliver, Aron Oliver, Aria Coleman, and Ethan Isaac Hess.

Warren was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Janis Oliver, his grandson, Noah Oliver, several sisters, one brother and his parents, Lorentine Francis Oliver and Clare Oliver.

Warren's professional journey included his career at General Motors (Fisher Body) as a United Auto Worker, in Flint, Mi., where he spent years contributing to the automotive industry. However, his true calling extended far beyond the factory floor and into the hearts of those he served.

Known as a community hero, Warren's passion for helping the less fortunate was truly extraordinary. He was a living embodiment of compassion, transforming his personal faith into tangible acts of kindness. From his own garage, he distributed bread to those in need, embodying the principle of serving others without seeking recognition. His fundraising efforts were legendary, raising an astounding $2 million for the McDonald Road Seventh-day Adventist Church and supporting numerous other SDA churches and schools in Apison, Hixson, and Soddy Daisy.

Warren's impact as a spiritual leader was profound. He served as a chaplain in the Genesee County prison system in Michigan and led Prison Ministries for the Texas Conference of Seventh-day Adventists. As an Elder in the Seventh-day Adventist Church, he dedicated his life to spiritual guidance, conducting Bible studies, and engaging in personal evangelism that touched countless lives.

Warren's personal interests were as vibrant as his community work. An aviation enthusiast, he found joy in airplanes, particularly remote-controlled models. His love for nature was evident in his passion for fishing and hiking and his extraordinary compassion for animals. Known for his rehabilitation efforts, Warren opened his heart and home to rescue birds, ducks, cats, dogs, and even raccoons and opossums.

Music was another avenue of Warren's expressive soul. His participation in the Melody Makers Band showcased his love for singing and community connection.

Warren Bruce Oliver was more than just a man; he was a living sermon of love, compassion, and unwavering faith. He leaves behind a legacy that transcends personal achievements—a legacy of transformed lives, served communities, and spiritual inspiration.

A celebration of life service will be announced later, allowing those whose lives he touched to come together and honor his remarkable journey.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to local food ministries or animal rescue organizations—causes that were dear to Warren's heart.

May his memory continue to inspire acts of kindness, service, and unconditional love.
