Glenda Gail Hedrick Green
Glenda Gail Hedrick Green, 78, of Apison, Tennessee, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, December 7, 2024.
She was born on Oct. 9, 1946, to James W. Hedrick and Lois Christine Robbs Hedrick.
Glenda, a.k.a. Gammy, was of the Baptist faith and an avid Tennessee Vols fan. In addition to football, she enjoyed gardening, singing, auto races and especially family gatherings. She was extremely proud of her family and loved them all dearly.
Professionally, Glenda owned multiple businesses over her lifetime but was most fondly known for County Line Grocery in McDonald/Apison, Tn. and Matthews Pool and Spa in Cleveland, Tn.
To know her was to love her. Glenda was a very special person and one of the biggest hearts in the world. She was one of the most loving, talented, caregiving, nurturing, strong and determined people anyone could ever meet. Often described as if anybody can do it, she can.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charlie Hedrick.
Glenda is survived by to cherish her memory, two sons, Glenn Green and Gary (Lauren) Green; three very special grandsons, Gary (Abbey) Green, II, Alexander Green, and Colin Green, all of Apison, TN; sister, Wanda (Jim) Longwith, of McDonald; brothers, Jim (Becky) Hedrick of McDonald and Steve (Nancy) Hedrick, of Apison; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins; her very special companion, Sam Durham; two very special friends, Glenda Scoggins and Cindy Tinsley.
A celebration of life will be held at Silverdale Baptist Church-Apison Campus, 10259 London Lane, Apison, Tn. 37302, on Thursday, Dec. 12, at 11 a.m. with Pastor Ben Schoening officiating, along with speakers, grandson, Gary Green, II, son, Gary Green, and talents of Zeck Dallas. The visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be held at Lakewood East Memory Gardens immediately following the service.
Serving as pallbearers will be her grandchildren, Gary (Abbey) Green, II, Alexander Green, and Colin Green.
Glenda, Mom, Gammy, sister, aunt, cousin, loving and loyal friend will be missed by many.
