Virginia “Sissy” Davis Carr, of Soddy Daisy, Tennessee, passed away on February 7, 2024, at the age of 79.

Sissy lived most of her life in Tennessee where she worked at JCPenney, several local banks, and Blue Cross Blue Shield in Chattanooga.

Sissy was a devoted animal advocate, who always had multiple dogs and cats throughout her life. She rescued and adopted several animals through the years and was often known to place their needs above her own. She supported the local humane society and gave money and supplies for the animals there. She even appealed to local news outlets and county officials to give more support to the local humane society and animal shelters in the Chattanooga area.

Sissy was proceeded in death by her mother, Mary Knight Davis and father, William J. Davis.

Sissy was survived by two children, Ron (Debbie) Daniel, and Angie (Mark) Brannan. Grandchildren Kaleb (Amber) Brannan, Christina (Houston) Daniel, Holly Daniel, Mandi (Jeff) Roberts, Rebecca Lynn, and Josh Callahan. She also had ten great grandchildren.

Sissy requested to not have funeral services. The immediate family will have a private memorial. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the local humane society in Chattanooga or your local animal shelter or pet rescue.

The family would like to give special thanks to Barbara Brooks and Michelle Hatfield for the wonderful care given for her in the last year.
